I'm Andrea, a Learning Experience Design Consultant based in Ontario, Canada

Marsten

Marsten is a design and learning experience practice based in London, Ontario, Canada. We specialize in learning experience design and consulting for organizations. We're passionate about creating intelligent and beautiful learning experiences that engage people and lead to real growth. Inclusive and accessible design practices are knitted into the very fabric of every design. We believe that meaningful and engaging learning experiences can empower people and help to build a positive workplace culture. When people are invested in growth through learning, this is when community-building happens. We're always learning about new and better ways of doing things especially in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

Marsten has evolved over the years from a graphic design & digital marketing firm to now an learning experience firm that designs well-rounded digital learning solutions for companies and organizations. One thing remains consistent through our whole journey is that we put people first.

Andrea Martens, BA, GCert EdTech

Andrea is the owner and lead of Marsten. Throughout her life, she has always been drawn towards leading, teaching and coaching others; be it in sport, school or work. Andrea's career began with graphic design and followed, what feels like, a natural path to learning design. The COVID-19 pandemic sparked a passion for online learning and educational technology. Andrea is a graduate from the University of British Columbia's Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology program, and has laddered into the Master of Educational Technology program with a target completion time of April 2025.

In addition to her studies in EdTech, Andrea is educated and experienced in Visual Arts, Graphic Design and Project Management. Together her academic and professional work experiences shape her practice as a strong and empathic leader, inquisitive designer and goal-driven achiever. Everything she does is propelled forward with her unwavering commitment and drive to continually improve and succeed.

When away from her desk Andrea is a gardener and avid runner. She loves fine coffee, design, her grey cat and big red dog.

Looking down on reading Dreamscapes by Claire Takacs with Andrea's dog Beau and coffee in the morning on the grey couch.
